His son, Rahula, entered monkshood.

The Buddha transmitted the Three Refuge to his dying father, King Suddhodana.

The Buddha accepted a Devas' request to ascend to the Heavenly realm for a sermon in repaying the kindness of his late mother, Queen Maya.

The Buddha descending from heavenly realm after a sermon, was respectfully surrounded by all the Devas.

At the age of 80, the Buddha accepted one last offering and shown sickness to remind his disciples of impermanence. The Buddha said that he was entering Parinibbana.

The Buddha attains Parinibbana in the Sala Grove, between the twin Sala tress, in the vicinity of Kusinagara.
The final exhortation of the Buddha to his disciples was that they should not be sorry for losing their tutor.

He spoke one last time:
"Do not say we have no master now. The doctrine I have preached will be your master when I have disappeared. Listen, I beg you: ALL CREATIONS ARE IMPERMANENT; work diligently for your liberation."
